Silo Treatments

After many years of experience in applying the Controlled Atmosphere technique to climate chambers, EcO2 has developed a mobile method for applying the technique to treat commodities stored in silos. Silos are constructed in various ways and using a wide variety of materials. EcO2 assists clients to customize any type of silos so that Controlled Atmosphere treatments can be successfully performed.

The Controlled Atmosphere silo fumigation can be applied at, for example, flour or rice companies and is very well suited for third party storage facilities. Flour and rice companies commonly use EcO2’s silo system to treat raw materials (e.g. wheat), use EcO2’s airtight chambers to treat the finished product and EcO2’s heat treatment technique to kill insects in empty silos. However, all methods can be applied separately depending on the customer’s need.

Mobile Heater

Silo Bag Treatment

With the increasing use of silo bags to store organic commodities (cereals, legumes and other seeds), EcO2 technology was adapted to treat products stored in silo bags with controlled atmosphere. If a pest infestation occurs, a mobile engine trailer will be brought on site for the treatment without the need to move the cargo. This reduces the risk of re-infestation significantly and the possibility to infest other commodities at the same location. The treatment is quick, effective, safe and has no effect to the quality of the silo bag.

Certificates

EcO2 provides specific certificates for containers or shipments on request of the customer. Obtain an internationally recognized certificate for treated cargos that are monitored by EcO2 Monitoring Solutions.
